Keeping the Yonder community safe and healthy

COVID-19 has made it more important than ever to take necessary steps in ensuring the health and safety of one another.

We have a few requests for our guests to keep our Steward community safe:

  1. Reach out to your Steward before beginning your trip and check your Steward’s website for any updates. Many locations have closed suddenly in response to this rapidly changing situation.
  2. If you’re going on a road trip, consider when and where you may need to stop for gas. Calculate the route and your fuel needs. Have sanitation essentials readily available, including wipes, hand sanitizer, gloves, and masks.
  3. Prepare everything you will need for your getaway. Review your Steward’s original listing information. Avoid making unnecessary stops along your way and taking any essential supplies from surrounding areas.

Manage availability during Covid on your calendar

  • If you have concerns with hosting a guest during these times of uncertainty, we encourage you to make your listings unavailable to book. For instructions to display your listings as unavailable, read more here.  If you have questions or need assistance with calendar updates, please contact your Yonder Steward Advocate.

Encouraged 48-Hour Property Turnover Buffer

  • In accordance to the CDC- recommended cleaning protocol, we urge all Stewards to leave a 48-hour vacancy window between bookings to allow you to safely clean and prepare your space.

Maintain a healthy environment

  • Directly notify booked guests about the safety precautions being taken to ensure thorough cleanliness before and after each stay. 
  • Note any activities, events, businesses, or restaurants who are closed or taking additional precautions that could impact guest experiences. 
  • Ensure all contracted services used to manage the property are adopting best practices during this time. 
  • Practice social distancing by keeping at least 6 feet away from guests.

Guest stay preparation

  • Disinfect all hot spots, (ie, tables, doorknobs, keys, light switches, countertops, handles, desks, toilets, faucets, and sinks).
  • Wash linens on high temperatures and use mattress and pillow covers to protect guest bedding.
  • Wear disposable gloves when cleaning, disinfecting surfaces and handling all guest linens. Gloves should be discarded after each use. 
  • Encourage guest collaboration by leaving a prevention checklist and cleaning essentials (ie, hand sanitizers, soaps, surface disinfectants) for your guests.
  • Consider consulting with your local health department about trash disposal guidance if available.

Yonder's Extenuating Circumstances & Cancellation Policy

Yonder currently provides Stewards with the option of choosing one of four cancellation policies, designed to protect both Stewards and their guests.

Each listing will clearly state the cancellation policy. With the current outbreak of Covid-19, the Yonder Extenuating Circumstances Policy stands as is.  In the case of a government-mandated quarantine, preventing either a Steward or their guest from traveling to or from the booked location, the guest can request a cancellation to be reviewed and verified by Yonder. 

We recommend that any cancellation requests from guests are discussed with the Steward directly. Suggested arrangements can vary from; change of booking dates, a hold on booking to be rescheduled at a later date, or partial refund. We encourage both parties to take into consideration what is best for health and safety as well as the financial burden that is carried for all parties involved during this time.
