Whether you’re after a card that levels up your flight, or one that rewards you for living life on and off the plane, both the Yonder Full Credit Card and the Barclaycard Avios Plus have a lot to offer. But they work very differently - and which one depends on the kind of perks you value the most.

Points
Both cards reward you every time you spend - but what those points are worth, and how you can use them, is where things get interesting.
Points per £1 spent
The Barclaycard Avios Plus earns 1.5 Avios per £1 on eligible purchases. Avios are part of the British Airways Executive Club points system, which means they’re primarily designed to be used on flights and flight-related rewards with BA and its partners.
Yonder's Full Credit Card earns 5 points per £1 on all purchases - and up to 25 points per £1 at selected Experiences. Yonder points can be used on flights (any airline), dining, wellness, entertainment, travel and more. The flexibility is the point on this one.

Welcome bonus
The Barclaycard Avios Plus offers 25,000 Avios when you spend £3,000 in your first 90 days. That's a generous number, but it does require a higher upfront spend to unlock.
Yonder's Full Credit Card offers 10,000 welcome points when you spend £1,000 in your first 30 days - a faster way to earn your bonus, and points you can spend on a much wider range of things.
Referring a friend
Yonder members earn up to 10,000 points for every friend they refer - with no limit on how many friends you can bring onboard.

Travel
Both cards have great travel credentials. But there's a big difference between a card that earns airline miles and one that's there for the whole journey.

Using points to book flights
With Barclaycard Avios Plus, your points can be used to book flights with British Airways and its Avios partners - but not with any airline of your choosing. So this can be a constraint, depending on how and where you want to travel.
Yonder Full Credit Card members can use their points toward any flight with any airline, as long as it's booked directly with the airline. Ryanair to Rome or Emirates to Dubai - your points, your call.
Cabin upgrade voucher
One place Barclaycard genuinely stands out: if you spend £10,000 in a 12-month period, you earn a BA cabin upgrade voucher - letting you move up one cabin class on an Avios reward flight booking. Alternatively, you can take 7,000 bonus Avios instead. It's a compelling perk for loyal BA flyers.
Yonder doesn't offer a cabin upgrade voucher. What Yonder offers instead is a varied set of travel rewards - from flights to hotels, airport lounges, car hire, and city getaways - with no airline lock-in.

Travel insurance
Barclaycard Avios Plus doesn't include travel insurance as part of the card.
Yonder Full Credit Card comes with comprehensive worldwide family travel insurance, powered by Lloyds - covering up to £1,000,000 in medical expenses, £7,500 on cancellations, £1,000 on lost or stolen baggage, plus car hire excess and winter sports cover. Worth £275 a year, included as standard. Just remember that cover is subject to booking with your Yonder card, eligibility and exclusions.
Overseas spending
This is a clear one. Barclaycard Avios Plus charges a 2.99% foreign exchange fee on every transaction made abroad.
Yonder charges nothing. Spend abroad like you would at home, with no fees and up to £200 a month in free ATM withdrawals.

Rewards & Experiences
Planning something special or simply can’t be bothered to cook? From catch ups over coffee to nights out on the town, the right rewards credit card lets you do more of what you love for less.
Flights vs dining and lifestyle rewards
Barclaycard Avios Plus doesn't offer a curated dining or lifestyle rewards programme. You earn Avios on your spend for flights, but there's no rotating set of experiences or partners to use your points at directly.
Yonder Experiences are refreshed monthly - covering dining, wellness, fitness, entertainment and online brands, as well as travel. Points earned anywhere can be spent at over 300 partners, with no expiry and no restrictions on when you redeem. Past member favourites have included everything from michelin starred restaurants to Lion King tickets and short city breaks.

Membership fees
Barclaycard Avios Plus costs £20 a month - that's £240 a year. Barclays Premier customers who also pay for Barclays Avios Rewards (a separate £12/month add-on) receive £5 back per month, effectively reducing the card to £15/month. But that saving requires holding a qualifying Barclays current account with an income of £75,000+ and paying for an additional product.
Yonder Full Credit Card costs £15 a month, or £160 if you pay annually - no conditions attached.
