Before Tangra officially opened its doors, 126 Yonderers took over the brand-new Indo-Chinese spot for an exclusive soft launch. The brief was simple: bring Mumbai heat to Soho nights. The result? A packed dining room, clinking glasses, and more chilli oil than anyone was emotionally prepared for.
The flavours
Tangra’s menu reads like a love letter to fire and flavour:
- Signature Momos with Schezwan spice or a tomato-lemongrass jhol (because what says “New Soho” better than dumplings doing deep work)
- Sadeko Chick’n Kati Roll (the chef’s favourite, and now ours)
- Frankie Mogo Fries dressed in garlic pickle mayo — yes, we ate them.
- Honey Chilli Waffle Aloo — sticky, golden, and impossible to share politely.
- Tangra Chaat that proves crunch is a flavour.
Every dish brought that Indo-Chinese balance of sweet, spicy, and unapologetically bold, the kind of food that wakes up your whole table.

Why this felt like more than a dinner
Yonderers showed up hungry, curious, and ready to explore. 126 covers later, it was clear: Tangra’s launch wasn’t just “let’s open and hope for the best”, it was a moment. A statement. Soho’s getting something new, and we were the first to be “in”.
Why Tangra chose Yonder
When the Tangra team pulled us in, they weren’t looking for a partner to fill seats. They were looking for a launch that felt curated, credible, community-led. Not “hey we’re open, come in”, but “we’re opening, and you’re part of the story”.
They’d seen what we do with restaurants (joining the likes of Morcella and Carmel), how our crowd shows up, pays attention, tells their friends. So when it came time to light the wok, they found the right match.
We brought an audience that’s engaged, curious, and ready to support restaurants that have something real to say (or in this case, serve). For Tangra, it wasn’t just about “launching”, it was about launching right.
What’s next?
This isn’t the end. Tangra will be featured on Yonder next year. So if you missed the soft launch, don’t worry, you’ll see it in our calendar, and you’ll want to be there.
Until then: Soho’s officially hotter. Frith Street’s got fluctuation. And yes, your dinner plans just upgraded.
